Welcome New General Manager Cecilia Bustos

Allow us to introduce you to Cecilia Bustos, who became the new General Manager of Hotel Mousai in January 2018. Her enthusiasm and passion for life have already had a positive impact on the resort, and her friendly personality is sure to put a smile on your face. Read on to learn more about the personal and professional life of this proud wife and mother of two.

Will you tell us a bit about your background?

Gladly! I was born in the state of Guerrero. We traveled around a lot as a family when I was a child because of my father’s job, which had a huge impact on my life. I was shy as a kid, but traveling opened up a whole new world of possibilities to me. I loved meeting new people, experiencing different things and seeing all of the things that make a destination unique. I fell in love with the hospitality industry as a result and began my career when I was just 18 years old, during which time I have been fortunate to work in some of Mexico’s most sought-after destinations including Playa del Carmen. I absolutely adore my home country and feel privileged that I get to help share it with visitors from around the globe during their stay in Puerto Vallarta.

Why were you interested in becoming the General Manager at Hotel Mousai?

It is an incredible hotel within an incredible company, and I was thrilled about the idea of working here from the moment I was being considered for the position. The staff members here are so wonderful, radiating positive energy and walking around the property with smiles on their faces. You can feel the genuine enthusiasm everywhere you go here, and I am sure our members would certainly agree. I was really excited to become part of the team at Hotel Mousai. Furthermore, the hotel is stunningly beautiful, from the lobby with its breathtaking views to the rooms with their luxurious decor and high-tech features. The environment at the Rooftop is especially festive and our members adore the staff and the unparalleled views up there.

What are some things that members can look forward to when staying at Hotel Mousai?

We are constantly looking for ways to exceed the expectations of our members and guests, and one of the things we are focusing on is creating experiences that are even more personalized. We want to offer service that is tailored to each individual, so we like to use the information we already know about our members and tailor the details of their stay to make it truly exceptional. We pride ourselves on anticipating the needs of our members and going above and beyond to ensure they get to experience things during their vacation that they will absolutely love.

Members staying at Hotel Mousai can also anticipate special gatherings designed especially for them that are currently in the works. We are developing new concepts that are different than what is done at sister resort Garza Blanca. We want to hold these exclusive meetings at various locations around our gorgeous property including the ultra-stylish Mousai Penthouse.

In your mind, what makes Hotel Mousai stand apart from its competitors?

First of all, we are the only hotel in Puerto Vallarta to have been awarded the prestigious 5 Diamond award. Secondly, our Rooftop lounge is simply amazing, with panoramic views of Banderas Bay. In my opinion, this is really the most noteworthy attraction at the hotel. We also deliver excellent service within a breathtaking atmosphere; since Hotel Mousai has only 73 rooms, we have the opportunity to greet every member and guest personally, which allows us to connect with them on a deeper level and find out what they want to get out of their vacations. We really enjoy getting feedback from our members so that we can provide them even better service. I have had so many members tell me that they feel Hotel Mousai really is their home away from home. I cannot tell you how rewarding it is to hear that!

How do you like to spend your time when you are not working?

Spending quality time with my family is the most important thing to me. This is the first time that my husband, children and I have lived in Puerto Vallarta and we are really enjoying getting to know our new hometown. I love to eat amazing food, so dining out is a passion and we are having a great time exploring the culinary scene here. Since my children have grown up around this industry, they love hearing about my job when I get home each day. Believe it or not, they even enjoy reading reviews about the hotel on TripAdvisor! Who knows? Maybe they will follow in my footsteps one day.
