What could be better than celebrating Father’s Day with your family in paradise! Here are some ideas about things to do in Puerto Vallarta for Father’s Day.
Breakfast in Bed
It is somewhat traditional for the spouse or children to cook breakfast for Dad on Father’s day at home, sometimes even bringing him breakfast in bed. Well, when you are staying at a luxury resort, it’s easy to duplicate this time honored tradition without even lifting a finger! Room service is one of the best things about staying in a resort hotel. Just call down to room service and ask them to bring Dad’s favorite breakfast meal to the room. Enjoy a nice breakfast as a family together in your room, and don’t even worry about doing the dishes!
Hit the Beach
For a relaxing day in the sand and sun, simply head down to Garza Blanca’s beach, order a cocktail, and chill. Our beach waiters will bring you food and drinks all day long so you can continue pampering Dad until he’s all pampered out.
If you want a more upbeat beach experience, head into town and hit Los Muertos Beach. There are plenty of beach restaurants all up and down this strip of sand where you can grab a chair under a palapa and order a cold beer. You can also pack a picnic lunch and sit on the sand anywhere along this beach for free. If you’re not sitting in restaurant chairs, you are not obligated to order anything from the restaurants. There are also areas of Los Muertos Beach that do not have restaurants, and you will see families there enjoying mother nature, gratis!
If you do venture to Los Muertos Beach, it’s a great place to take advantage of beachside water sports such as jet ski, flyboard, parasailing, and paddleboarding. You can find all of those sports near the pier.
Another Father’s Day tradition is taking Dad out for a nice dinner. Blanca Blue is always a favorite if Dad is into traditional Mexican cuisine with a high end twist. Maybe he will even want to try something new, such as octopus, or mole! Blanca Blue has a brand new dinner menu, created by our world renowned Chef Ovidio Perez, and a new cocktail menu by our bar manager Ivan Aguilar that includes Mexican spirits such as mezcal and raicilla, so take Dad for dinner and let him indulge in a fabulous meal with spectacular view!
If Dad is more of a steak and potatoes kind of guy, BocaDos is the perfect place to spend a more quiet, more intimate evening. BocaDos is in a magical place, situated in the perfect spot at Garza Blanca, a bit higher up on the hill; the view is simply incomparable. While Blanca Blue has a slightly more formal dress code, if Dad is more of the dressing down type, BocaDos’ more relaxed, informal atmosphere might be just right for his special night!
A Night Out
Does Dad love music? If so, why not take him downtown for a show? There are numerous bars, clubs and theaters in downtown Puerto Vallarta where he can see live music and singers from any genre from Mexican, to rock and roll, to blues and jazz. The party continues all night long at the electronic music dance clubs, if he’s into that. It’s easy to take a taxi or Uber to and from downtown, so Dad can enjoy a few adult beverages and still get home safely.
