Celebrating the Irish in Puerto Vallarta

While it might seem that the Mexican and Irish communities have very little in common, it is certain that their love for celebrations unite the two in more ways than one could imagine.  This March 17th, as people around the world celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the inhabitants of Puerto Vallarta and their visitors will be raising a toast to their Irish friends at various locations throughout the city. Here are some of the celebrations you won’t want to miss:

Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration at Garza Blanca Preserve

Garza Blanca Residence Club members staying at the resort for St. Patrick’s Day can enjoy a special celebration to be held at Blanca Blue restaurant. A themed menu will be served including Irish stew, pork glazed in Guinness and Guinness pudding with whiskey cream, as well as lots of green colored treats and Irish music.

The Marigalante Pirate Ship Tour

Bar Hopping on the Malecón in Downtown Puerto Vallarta

A visit to Puerto Vallarta on St. Patrick’s Day wouldn’t be complete without bar-hopping along the Malecón in the heart of downtown. From large nightclubs, where you can dance your heart out, to small bars where you can order drinks and chat with friends, the Malecón has it all. Be sure to hit up Murphy’s Irish Pub along the way, where they are sure to be celebrating in true Irish fashion, with live music, sports, food and, of course, a pint of beer.

Tequila Tasting Tour

While you won’t find much green tequila around the streets of Puerto Vallarta, you will find an array of delicious flavors that you might not otherwise have thought to try. Embark on a Tequila tour where you’ll witness firsthand the tequila making process, including the cooking, fermenting, distilling and aging process of the Blue Agave cactus.
Or head out for a tequila tasting extravaganza of your own. There are various stores along the Malecón that will invite you to taste their various tequilas without requiring a purchase. Sip on the different flavors offered at each shop and discover which you like the best.
