Are You Interested in Being Part of the Tafer Member Advisory Committee (MAC)?

The role of the TAFER Member Advisory Committee (MAC) is to serve in an advisory capacity to TAFER Resorts and UVCI, your Club managers.  The MAC provides ideas and recommendations for programs, services and amenities, resort enhancement, and member services, both offsite and on property. Over the years many MAC suggestions have been implemented for the benefit of members and guests visiting the resorts.   There is no reimbursement or compensation for travel costs, rooms or other expenses. However, MAC members find that participation on the committee is very rewarding as it allows them to connect to others with similar interests, strengthen the membership community, develop friendships, and get to know resort and Club management on a personal level. To date, committee members have been selected from Club Caribe/Villa del Palmar Cancun and Garza Blanca Residence Club, and appointed by the Board.  As the overall membership in TAFER resorts has grown, a more structured procedure is now needed. To that end, within the next year we will be initiating a formalized process to introduce new …

This March we will honor the northern and southern parts of the country by sharing food and handicrafts from those regions, such as wine, chocolate, mezcal, tequila, folk art, jewelry, pottery and painting, so that guests can take home a bit of Mexico. Every year, Hecho en Mexico presents a distinguished artist, a renowned chef and an innovative Mexican fashion designer to share their vast experience in their respective fields. MUSA – Cancun’s Underwater Museum

Travel is an amazing experience, even if you stay at your resort, but what makes your time extraordinary is discovering the wondrous phenomena of an area. MUSA (Museo Subacuático de Arte) is one of those magical finds that can define your vacation and expand your horizons. This underwater art museum is a testament to human ingenuity, creativity and the mark we leave for future generations. More than 750,000 people visit the Cancun-Isla Mujeres Marine Park every year severely taxing the natural environment and changing the seascape. So in 2009, Roberto Díaz Abraham, once the President of the Cancun Nautical Association and Jaime González Cano, Director of the National Marine Park created a plan to draw people to the waters surrounding Punta Nizuc, Isla Mujeres and Cancun. This would help to spare the overly visited coral reef systems and give tourists an equally stunning experience. They then searched out Jason deCaires Taylor, an English sculptor, to get the project started. As it gained momentum, other sculptors such as Karen Salinas Martinez, Roberto Diaz Abraham, Rodrigo Quiñones …

Advanced Hiking at Garza Blanca

Garza Blanca Resort in Puerto Vallarta sits on a large jungle preserve that includes a waterfall. If you are interested in hiking, I highly recommend the guided hike that Garza Blanca offers.   There are several different hiking routes around the preserve that range from easier to more advanced. Different routes are taken depending on the time of year, weather, and the age, size, and skill level of the groups. All of the hikes are lead by local guides who are very knowledgeable about the area, and speak both English and Spanish. Advanced Hike to Palo Maria Forty-two hikers age six to sixties departed the lobby of Garza Blanca for the Advanced Hike to the Palo Maria waterfall. Our guide, Tito had a jovial personality was a lot of fun to hike with. He instructed us to wear tennis shoes and bathing suits and come with a good attitude, ready to have fun. He handed out bottles of water to everyone and we started off into the jungle with Tito’s assistant Juan following behind the …
