New Paella Festival Every Sunday

Every Sunday, beginning at two o’clock in the afternoon, the chefs at Garza Blanca Preserve prepare a delicious Paella Festival for guests and members staying at the resort. The festival, which takes place by the main pool next to the beach, gives everyone the opportunity to witness the creativity and expertise of the chefs as they create their culinary masterpieces. Traditionally, paella is a Spanish rice dish that combines the flavors of Spain’s two main cultures, the Roman and the Arab. The delicious mixture of rice, vegetables and meats came about during the times of the Moorish Kings who would allow their servants to dine off the scraps that were leftover from their royal feasts. As the servants prepared a dish to take home to their families, they would often mix the leftover ingredients, unaware that they were creating a meal that would become a legend and a delicacy throughout Spain and the rest of the world. Equinox Party

Garza Blanca Residence Club members who decide to escape the cold and celebrate the start of spring in Mexico are in for a pleasant treat with Garza Blanca’s Equinox Party. For centuries, indigenous tribes across Mexico have welcomed the onset of spring with ceremonies and rituals. In honor of these traditions, members staying at the resort on March 20th will enjoy a special equinox event. The name equinox refers to the two times of the year when the day and night are of equal length, which occur around March 20th/22nd and September 20th/22nd each year. The vernal equinox, which takes place during March in the northern hemisphere, marks the shift towards longer and warmer days while the autumnal equinox marks the start of shorter days; and vice versa in the southern hemisphere. Every year in November, Puerto Vallarta’s most prestigious gourmet festival delights visitors to Banderas Bay and marks the start of the peak season. Puerto Vallarta’s XX International Gourmet Festival 2014 ran from November 13 through November 23, with a stunning array of events, guest chefs and special menus for vistors to enjoy.
